In a world where movies, TV shows, tunes and burritos are always available with no more effort than the press of a button, having to get up to put a disc into a slot just to play a game of FIFA is starting to look increasingly old-hat. Microsoft seems to think so too, which is why it's released this physical-media- free version of the X box One 5. Without a disc drive you have to rely on the fixed pricing of the Microsoft Store to fill the 1TB of onboard storage, but you get a head start with free digital copies of Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3.And it's £50 cheaper than a regular X box One 5.The downside for the dozen people who own UHD Blu-ray discs is that you can no longer play them on the console, but it'll still do 4K streaming from Netflix, Amazon Prime and Microsoft's own store, with support for HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. With the next generation of consoles likely to move away from physical formats, it's a good chance to practise living the disc-less life.
