SPEAKERS PIMP MY BUS RIDE

LOEWE KLANG Ml

£169/loewe.tw

We generally associate high-end German brand Loewe with extremely stylish, extremely expensive TVs , but the Klang M11s a Bluetooth speaker with a far more attainable price tag. It 's built like a classy compact camera, complete with leather strap and a precision-milled steel casing (choose from silver, grap hite grey or rose gold) with elegant buttons to match.

It's also beautifully simple to use, with instant pairing and the ability to skip tracks. There 's also a 3.5mm input for the wired-o-philes and a built -in mic allows for hands-free calling. And if you find someone else with their own M1 , you can pair them in stereo mode.

On board controls might seem a bit needless with smartphone streaming, but given the amount of time you 'll be cradling this lump of design joy, it makes perfect sense -and easy to cradle it is , thanks to some remarkably compact dimensions. That 's because the entire thing is smaller than an iPhone XS in height and just the right side of chunky to fit in a back pocket without the rounded edges drastically misshaping your trousers. At 325g, it's also remarkably lightweight –perhaps not so much as its rival the B&O P2, but you won't be suffering any repetitive strain injuries from picking it up. Loewe's website even shows a Klang M1 hanging off a bike 's handlebars; and while this might seem a wee bit ridiculous, it's also entirely achievable.

Aside from the smart looks, superb build quality and 12-hour battery, the Klang M1's two 8W drivers offer "a nicely balanced so und that's more like a traditional radio than a pop speaker", according to Mike , "although it does feel constrained, which isn't surprising given the diminutive size". You'll not find a better - looking, more desirable, more lnstagram-worthy travel speaker; just don't expect it to disturb the couple in the hotel suite next door.

BEOPLAY P6

BEOPLAY P6

Designer style comes at a price, but this pearl-blasted aluminium and leather model from Bang & Olufsen's Beoplay stable hides three speakers and three amps, and has a ridiculous 215W peak power, an app that allows you to tweak EQ settings and a 16-hour battery life.

TIVOLI ANDIAMO

£189/tivoliaudio.co.uk

Italian for 'Let's go!', this pared-back puck of a speaker is made using aluminium and leather, and has a 2.5 in 20W full –range driver plus a 3in passive radiator, delivering a fresh , full-bodied sound for up to 20 hours. Place it on a so lid surface for best results.

DENON SOBT ENVAYA POCKET

Sub-£100 Bluetooth speakers used to be dangerous territory, but they're no longer cheapo efforts with all the sonic impact of a fly crashing into your bathroom window. Oenon 's EnvayaPocket can carry a tune in style- and , speaking of bathrooms , it'll also survive a splash.
